My precious little one --
First and foremost -- I want you to know that you are loved and prayed for. From before I learned you exist I have prayed for you and loved you.
I want to tell you the story of how I learned about you.
Yesterday was Friday, October 21, 2011. I am at your Great-grandparent's home (Gran & Poppie) in Paducah, Kentucky. Gran has had surgery and I came to help her and Poppie. The rest of your family was planning a pumpkin carving where everyone would carve their most special design tonight, but because I am here, I would not see the beautiful carvings.
Your mommy called me and said, "We want to have a skype video chat with you, Poppie and Gran!" So, after a few moments getting it set up, we were soon looking at them and they at us. We chatted a few moments and then I mentioned the festivities of the evening. Your Mommy said, "I have a really special design. Let me send it to you by email."
Within just a minute or two, my phone buzzed and I opened an email to see the design. It was pink and had a stork holding a little bundle in its beak. I gasped and said, "Allison! Does this have any meaning?"
"What do you think?" she asked, laughing.
There were lots of tears and congratulations.
I'm told that you are only the side of a sesame seed - that is tiny tiny, and that your heart is already starting to beat and your brain is forming. How exciting!
There are a few things I want you to know.
1. You are loved
2. You are wanted
3. You are a wondrous creation of God.
4. You will be cherished for your entire life.
Welcome little one...to whatever tomorrow holds for us as a family.
I promise to love you, pray for you and care for you. To be there for you and help you learn and grow. We will play and laugh and read and learn and have so many adventures together. Your laughter will bring joy to my heart and your tears will break my heart.
You are coming to a family that is funny and loud. We are smart - both learning-wise and sassy! We enjoy music of all kinds and art and museums and amusement parks. We enjoy scavenger hunts and zombie walks. We are a family of teachers and we treasure times together. We are not just family -- we are best friends. We have waited for you anxiously and will continue to wait until we can hold you in our arms. (That will be a fight to decide who holds you first and most often!)
I am so excited! Your Mommy & Daddy are very excited too!
